Actress Ashley Green won the Teen Choice Award for "Fresh Face Female" for her role as Alice Cullen in the "Twilight" sagas. "Twilight" and Greene fans should be pleased to learn that she is getting ready to launch a new cause-campaign with DoSomething.org.
Earlier this weekend, before the Teen Choice Awards, Greene attended DoSomething.org's "Power of Youth" event to celebrate the achievements of LA's best young leaders. Greene seems to be following in the footsteps of fellow actresses Kristen Bell and Rachel Bilson who also support DoSomething.org.
Details of Greene's new cause-campaign lauch are being kept under wraps at the moment. Greene did have some comments to make about DoSomething.org, "I think it's important to let young people and teens know that they should help other people now rather than later. DoSomething.org is a brilliant site. It's really easy and let's teens know all the little things they can do to help out. I'm so excited to be working with an organization that calls so many young people to action."
DoSomething.org's motto is "Powering Offline Action. Using the power of online to get teens to do good stuff offline." The website is an interactive place set up with a list of causes that can be clicked on and where teens can learn how to Do Something about them. Causes range from going green to battling HIV/AIDS and learning about Disaster Response and Relief.
Ashley Greene has been involved with other charitable organizations including DonateMyDress.org where she is the celebrity spokeswoman. DonateMyDress.org is a national program that sets up local dress drives across the nation where girls can donate prom dresses or recieve a prom dress free of charge to help them have a prom night to remember.
DoSomething.org has been featured as a Jeopardy! question recently in the "Good Stuff" category during the Teen Tournament and other celebrities have been proud to say that they support DoSomething. "American Idol" winner Jordan Sparks, Quarterback Peyton Manning, Singer Usher, Rock Group Fallout Boy, Actress Kristen Bell and many others support DoSomething.org. It's not a surprise that "Twilight" actress Ashley Greene would want to show her support for this incredible charity program.
We can all look forward to seeing the launch of Ashley Greene's cause-campaign with DoSomething.org.
